module 7 video review

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
In the science design video i learned that a tiny apartment in Paris, NYC, or Even Toronto is rare as well
as prohibitive. Once skyscrapers became the new form of a structure to build building , the discovery of
the importance of concrete and steel came with it. A skyscraper is made up of two distinct parts , the
superstructure , which is what stands above ground and the underground substructure. I also learned
that wind is one of the main problems when building skyscrapers . a building above 100 stories can rock
at least 1 meter with wind. The second video i chose to watch was Frank Gehry: Architecture as Art. In
this video Frank Gehry expressed that he tries to make buildings that interact with human responses; a sense of
feeling that people might have is important to him while creating building. He also was saying that it's kind of
hard to speak about these things because it's based off of human emotion. When you see a beautiful painting or
a sculpture you have an emotional response to it

2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
Both of the videos relate to the readings because they both discuss structure and the materials that
are used. They gave a better and much in depth understanding of architecture. I couldn't get into the
reading because it was kind of boring but watching the videos made it easier to understand
3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of Architecture?
I enjoyed the films,  Frank Gehry video really shows and emotional side of architecture , even though
it was very informing , I can tell he's passionate and loves what he does, which made it a good video,
the second video gave me a more in depth understanding of architecture.  The science design video
showed me what it takes to build skyscrapers or building in general.
4. Why did you choose the films that you watched?
At first glance it was more so about how long the videos were. So I went with the shortest ones. After
watching them i was glad i chose them because i loved them
