Color

1. Describe Color and it's effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting.
Color is much more than a light reflection, Color has many properties like, Hue, intensity, HVI, and value. .  Hue is used to describe the different wavelengths of color. Intensity is the strength and purity of the wavelengths. Value is the relative lightness and darkness of the wavelength. HVI is the way computer systems display color using numerical codes. if someone looks at the color blue they get sad, yellow makes you happy, red gets you angry etc
2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why?
Colors are apart of our everyday lives. different colors of food, clothes, even signs can make your emotions change.“Do You See What I See? The Science of Color Perception” informed me on that .

3. In the Color videos, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions?
The brain psychology behind colors and emotions is very interesting especially because color can effect our mood.

Video and CNN Article Review

Which philosopher's theroy on aesthetics do you feel is most important? Be sure to mention the philosphers name, era (time in history), and contribution to the aesthetic theory in your response.?
Immanuel Kant (1724-1804),Kant's main interest was not in art per se, but in Beauty. Most of his remarks are as relevant to the beautiful or sublime in nature as in art. Kant also thought that Beauty or Sublimity were not really properties of objects, but ways in which we respond to objects. he wrote, not about the Form of the Beautiful, as Plato or a medieval philosopher would have done, but about Taste. Kant was concerned to show that this focus on the subjective aesthetic response did not make aesthetic value a mere function of individual or personal taste.Kant's way of working out these problems is what makes his aesthetics original and influential. He claimed that judgments of taste are both subjective and universal. They are subjective because they are responses of pleasure and do not essentially involve any claims about the properties of the object itself.

What do you think about Changeux and Ramachandran scientific view of aesthetics and art? What was the most interesting fact you discovered from each speakers lecture ?
Ramachandran view on art was that the brain can interpret anything and make it into something. he discussed how  the brain processed colors, shapes, lines etc. and how i brain processes things differently depending on culture  and your surroundings
Changeux discussed homosapiens and how every hundred thousands years we as people and art change.Language plays a large role in human creativity.
How do the videos and article relate to the readings in the text?
The text and videos are similar because they discuss the aesthetics of art  and how philosophers from then to now has shaped the theories of art. the article basically discusses how the brain can detect stuff and interpret into anything.Television has a huge affect in aesthetics in art and the way intellectuals view art. To appreciate and understand art has changed drastically throughout the ages up until the twentieth century.

What is your opinion of the films and article? How do they add depth to understanding of the topics in your reading in the text?
In my opinion these videos are very informational and brought a better understanding to art for me especially the video about the brain and how it interpret things and the video about the philosophers
personally on my own free time i wouldnt of read or viewed theses videos
